Patty and I returned from Chautauqua on Monday - the end for both of us of a very full summer. I had planned to be at Catholic House for a full week but returned to Bath for a funeral on Thursday/Friday. We did see some great concerts on Friday and Saturday night - Neil Sedaka and Michael Bolton.
This is a big weekend for our family. On Saturday, I'll officiate at the wedding of our daughter Annie and Jason Goodreau in a very small ceremony at St. Gabriel's Church in Hammondsport. As I mentioned in my last email, Jason is a warm and caring man who has fallen for both Annie and our delightful 7 month old grandson Jack. Our daughter Monica and her significant other Nate will be in town for Labor Day weekend and the wedding. We are really looking forward to this very special time.
My column this week is entitled "Stress Reduction" but I have also begun a series of articles on Islam - my tiny part in bridging this knowledge gap that threatens civilization if we do not find a means to greater understanding.
Since its already Thursday, I'll be sending another installment within a few days.
Have a blessed weekend and enjoyable Labor Day.

Over the years, God has blessed me with many wonderful opportunites to
minister. As a Roman Catholic permanent deacon of the Diocese of
Rochester, New York, (ordained 1982), I have served in a wide variety
of ministries. Whether I am ministering to my parish, hospitals, nursing homes, prisons, travel or retreat groups (e.g. Cursillo, Walk
to Emmaus, Koiniania, Pre Cana, Youth) - music has played an important
role in opening doors and hearts.
This website is an
extension of that ministry. Here you'll find the lyrics to many of my
prayer-songs and, if you like, purchase from a collection of CDs I've recorded.
There's also information about tours and pilgrimages that my wife Pat and I
occasionally host and links to web sites I've found interesting.
