Dear Friends,

Welcome to my website!

May 27, 2007 - Pentecost Sunday

Dear friends in life and in ministry  . . .

What a beautiful weekend.  In Corning, New York on  Memorial Day weekend, our community plays host to the LPGA Corning Classic. In the past I would spent many hours as a volunteer and get to see the very talented women golfers. On Thursday, I was at the golf tournament, not to watch the golf, but to volunteer in a concession tent. The Corning Classic awards a substantial amount of money each year to Camp Star (our are Rotary Camp for Handicapped children) in  return for the work performed by area Rotarians during the week.  Sunday evening, I watched a replay of the finals of the Classic on TV's Golf Channel. Its the closest I actually got this year to seeing more than 5 minutes of golf.

On Pentecost Sunday, I provided music at our 9:30 a.m. Mass interspersing three of my own Spirit songs (Gentle Spirit, Walking with the Wind and Sweet Wind) with familiar Pentecost hymns.  It was good to sing these prayer songs with a congregation. Most were written over twenty years ago, but still reflect my personal awe at being loved by God and called to ministry through the Holy Spirit.

On Sunday, Pat, our daughter Annie and new grandson Jack drove to Rochester for a gathering with Pat's siblings and their children. Jack got to meet his cousin Alex who was born a few weeks after Jack's arrival. Grandparenting remains a source of great joy.

On this Memorial Day, I remember my dad and all who served in the military. Let's pray for an end to this terrible war and that all might experience the love and peace God desires for us.

Over the years, God has blessed me with many wonderful opportunites to minister.  As a Roman Catholic permanent deacon of the Diocese of Rochester, New York, (ordained 1982), I have served in a wide variety of ministries. Whether I am ministering to my parish, hospitals,  nursing homes, prisons, travel or retreat groups (e.g. Cursillo, Walk to Emmaus, Koiniania, Pre Cana, Youth) - music has played an important role in opening doors and hearts.
This website is an extension of that ministry. Here you'll find the lyrics to many of my prayer-songs and, if you like, purchase from a collection of CDs I've recorded. There's also information about tours and pilgrimages that my wife Pat and I occasionally host and links to web sites I've found interesting.

I pray that you will enjoy this visit, and if you like,
